I've been here for 10 years, and advance questions are welcome. After retiring from my job in Tokyo and running Irifune Udon in Niigata City for 10 years, I moved to Sado.
Sado is the second largest island in Japan after Okinawa, with a circumference of 261km and a population of 60,000.
The Kuroshio Current flows into the Sea of Japan, keeping temperatures 2°C higher than Niigata City, and it's rich in nature.
The night sky is as beautiful as a jewel, and there are plenty of seafood, including fruits, Sado rice, tuna, and abalone. Many famous restaurants offer convenient living.
As a World Heritage Site, the number of immigrants has increased. They work in agriculture, fishing, forestry, diving, and handymanship, and there are plenty of job openings.
Land and buildings can be acquired for one-third the price of Tokyo, and you can purchase them for one-third the price of a 30-year mortgage in Tokyo.
If you visit Sado and find its appealing, we'd love to help you consider relocating with your family.
