Arita Ware Decorative Plate with Gold Floral Pattern (Kin-sai Hana Moy)
This exquisite decorative plate is a masterpiece of Arita ware (Arita-yaki), Japan’s oldest and most prestigious porcelain tradition, originating over 400 years ago in Arita, Saga Prefecture. Renowned worldwide for its pure white porcelain base, intricate hand-painted designs, and luxurious overglaze techniques—including the lavish use of gold (kin-sai)—Arita ware was extensively exported to Europe in the 17th-18th centuries, captivating royalty and collectors alike (often known in the West as Imari ware). Its elegant floral motifs and brilliant gold accents embody the refined, timeless beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.
Produced by the historic Yazaemon Kiln (弥左ェ門窯, founded in 1804—one of Arita’s oldest operating kilns, now known for its modern luxury brand ARITA PORCELAIN LAB).
