クライド・A・ハービン・シニア “ザ・バスマン” は、ヘドン・ルアー研究の世界的第一人者でした。生前の多くの功績のひとつとして、『Luckey's Old Fishing Lures & Tackle』第6版にも寄稿しています。
ラッセル・E・ルイスは、ミシガン州西部の私有の深い湖、バスやパイクの棲む湖のほとりで育ちました。彼のコレクション趣味は、少年時代に隣人であり師でもあったニックから、木製でガラス目の釣りルアーを3点贈られたことから始まりました。考古学者である彼にとって、古い釣りルアーを調査研究することはごく自然な関心の広がりであり、これまでに釣りルアーに関する本を5冊執筆しています。

Invaluable history
Heddon lures are the most popular lures to collect. Heddon catalogs provide the most complete record available to collectors regarding what lures they might seek for their collections. This book contains a sampling of the most significant catalogs produced by Heddon from 1902 - 1953. Collectors will enjoy the nostalgia of the times, be able to observe the evolution of Heddon's lures and marketing, and utilize the color chart and lure listings provided to grow and identify their own collections.
About the authors Clyde A. Harbin, Sr. "The Bassman," was the world's preeminent authority on Heddon lures. Among his many accomplishments before his death, he contributed to Luckey's Old Fishing Lures & Tackle, 6th edition. Russell E. Lewis grew up on a private deep-water bass and pike lake in Western Michigan His collecting interests began as a young boy when given three wooden glass-eyed fishing lures by his neighbor/mentor, Nick. As an archaeologist, his interest in researching old fishing lures seemed natural to him, and he has written five books on fishing lures to date. Dedication In the fishing world Clyde A. Harbin, Sr., was known simply as "The Bassman." The nickname, however, was the only simple thing about this wonderfully colorful, opinionated and passionate man. A foremost authority on all things fishing, Clyde was helping to complete this book when his wife of 65 years, Ellie Polk, called with the sad news of his death, March 24, 2004. Clyde was 88. A throwback Southern gentleman, Clyde was both unfailingly polite and famously outspoken. But more than anything, he was a fisherman extraordinaire. At one point, Clyde had the largest and most complete old lure collection in the world. He was the preeminent authority on Heddon lures and authored two books about the company: Heddon Footprints and James Heddon's Son's Catalogues. His amazing collection and wealth of knowledge served as the foundation for the first edition of Old Fishing Lures & Tackle some 25 years ago. Fisherman, father, husband, author and friend, Clyde will be missed. We dedicate this book to the memory of this fine man, In his own words, "Keeepppa Pluggggin."
