Description

This is a yunomi (tea cup) by Uichi Shimizu, a Living National Treasure of Japan.

It comes with its original wooden box (tomobako) and certificate, reflecting the high reputation and artistic significance of the artist.

The soft glaze tone and fine crackle (crazing) create a refined and tranquil aesthetic. The piece fits comfortably in the hand and is suitable both for practical use and appreciation.

Uichi Shimizu served as a director of the Japan Kogei Association and made significant contributions to the development of traditional Japanese crafts. This work clearly demonstrates his mature technique and refined sense of beauty.
