Item Description This is an authentic silver medal of merit awarded by the Bureau of Rites & Customs (禮俗司) under the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the late Qing Dynasty (Guangxu to Xuantong reigns, ca. 19001915).
The Bureau of Rites & Customs was responsible for ceremonies, rituals, and court events. This medal was conferred upon individuals who rendered distinguished service in these areas. It represents a transitional award, combining traditional Chinese artistic design with the influence of Western-style medal systems that were beginning to be introduced at the time.

Reverse: clearly marked with the official inscription “務部禮俗司印” (Seal of the Bureau of Rites & Customs).

Material: silver.
Period: Late Qing Dynasty to early Republic of China (ca. 19001915).
Additional note: This example represents a typical “silver medal of merit.”
Condition: As shown in the photos. The enamel is extremely well-preserved with no significant damage. This medal itself is extremely rare and represents a highly valuable item for serious collectors.
