ELECTRICAL HAZARD SAFETY FOOTWEAR
Electrical Hazard (EHI footwear Is designed with special
heel and sole materials to provide extra protection on
jobs where accidental contact with electrically energized
objects Is possible. The non-conductive properties of
these components retard electrical grounding and thus
reduce the risks of serious Injury wnere there are no
other ground contacts by the wearer.
Shock resistance capabilities will be reduced If, In the case of non rubber footwear,
the product Is used In damp or wet conditions or If the outer surface of the heel
or sole Is contaminated by chemicals fe.g. road saltl. Impregnated with conductive
matenals (e.g. metal chips. gnndlngs. tacksl or cracked or perforated In any manner.
Shock resistance may also be diminished by excessively worn heels and soles as
evidenced by a wear eroded tread pattern. EH rubber boots are designed for use
In damp or wet conditions but their shock resistance capabilities may also be
compromised by chemical contaminants. by Imbedded foreign objects and/or by
cracking and perforations In any part of the boot. To guard against these conditions
In all types of EH footwear frequent Inspections are recommended.
