The Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast, a five-piece group formed in Sydney, Australia, that creates experimental sounds accented by numerous percussion instruments, eerie vocals, fluttering guitars, and delicate saxophones. Despite their short career, they have garnered a cult following to this day. This work is their second single, released in 1982 after their first album. It also showcases their distinctive sound creation, featuring 4 unique tracks: “Escalating Deckchair,” which soundscapes dark and solemn worldview, lo-fi bed-room minimal type track“W.O.Q.” reminiscent of Woo, “Palatable,” which drifts and wanders through the underground and laid-back sound “Why Won't We Wake?” intertwined with noise tones. The artwork is also distinctive.

幾多のパーカッション、不気味なボーカル、煌めくギター、繊細なサックスがアクセントとなるエクスペリメンタル・サウンドを作り出し短い活動期間ながら現在もカルト的な支持を得ているオーストラリア・シドニーで結成された5人組グループThe Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast。本作はファーストアルバム後に制作された82年リリースのセカンドシングル。この作品でも個性的なサウンドクリエイションは健在で、ダークかつ神妙な世界観を描く”Escalating Deckchair”、Woo辺りにも通じるLo-fi箱庭ミニマル的”W.O.Q.”、地下を漂い彷徨うような”Palatable”、ノイズ入り混じる脱力系”Why Won't We Wake ?”のそれぞれ趣向が異なる類まれな4曲を収録。アートワークも独特。やはりこのグループは間違いない。
