アッキーレ・カスティリオーニ 1918年、イタリア ミラノ生まれ。ミラノ工業大学建築学科卒業後、兄のピエル・ジャコモとともに建築や都市設計、家具や小物などのデザインに携わります。1962年にフロスが設立される際、兄とともにデザイン責任者として参画し、大理石のベースから優雅な曲線を描きながら伸びるアームを持つ「ARCO」、自動車のヘッドライトを利用してデザインされた「TOIO」をはじめ多くの秀作を発表しました。その後、フロス、ザノッタ、アレッシィ、ダネーゼなど多くの企業から作品を発表。9度のコンパッソ・ドーロの受賞をはじめ多くのデザイン賞を受賞し、作品はMoMA（ニューヨーク近代美術館）、ビクトリア＆アルバート博物館などの美術館に収蔵されています。 カスティリオーニ兄弟がイタリアの大手電気部品製造メーカーVLM社のために1968年デザインしたテーブルランプ用スイッチ『インテルットーレ・ロンピトラッタ』 扱いやすいサイズ、シャープなエッジ、スイッチを包むサークル、スイッチの形状、完璧に調和されていて非の打ち所がないデザインです。スイッチの切り替え時の感触や音にまでこだわったと聞いたことがあります！
