1920年代頃に製作された、オールドノリタケの非常に珍しいアシュトレイです。
最大の特徴は、中央に施された立体的な「馬」の型押し（モールド）です。毛並みや手綱、力強い眼差しに至るまで繊細な手描きで彩色されており、ノリタケの高度な技術が凝縮されています。縁取りは幸運の象徴とされる「蹄鉄」を模したデザインになっており、造形的にも非常に美しい一品です。

灰皿としての実用はもちろん、灰皿という枠を超えた美術品として、書斎のインテリアや小物入れとしても最適です。
